Diamond discs are special cutting tools used in the maintenance of CMS carbide-plated tools. As main characteristics, in the case of diamond discs we will note the following: The body of the disc is made of an aluminum alloy due to the need for this tool to be light and not to develop vibrations during use. The size of the diamond grain, coded D and which is chosen according to the desired finish of the surface to be processed. Thus, in the case of maintenance of CMS plated tools, a D64 grit is chosen to obtain a smooth surface. The binder is the material that sticks the diamond grains and is an organic resin symbolized in the R coding. The concentration of diamond dust is a subject of continuous controversy among traders of such tools. Most recommend a concentration of 75%, but we sell such discs with a concentration of 50%. The diamond used for these tools is a synthetic material that has, depending on the manufacturer, different characteristics. As a result of the accumulated experience, we have come to the conclusion that the discs sold by us, D64R50, are the best in terms of quality/price ratio. The shape of the diamond disc is chosen according to the tools that will be sharpened with it. The most common shapes are 4A2 and 12A2, but our representatives will recommend the most suitable disc for you after analyzing two factors: the field of use and the sharpening machine available.
