Blade setting

This is the operation whereby the tips of the teeth are bent respecting an algorithm, in order to obtain cutting surfaces if stellite tipping is not desired or not possible. Blade setting can be achieved using special equipment or manually using alternative teeth saws pliers, whose size is selected depending on the size/thickness of the band saw blade. It is a laborious operation, and the results are not very satisfactory cost and productivity wise. Although when debiting coniferous timber the surface is less rough than the one resulted by using stellite tipped blades, cutting yield can drop by up to 50% over the one of a stellite tipped blade. Therefore, for narrow band saw blades designed to debit logs, our company offers as an alternative the blades that have already been set and those with hardened teeth and for carpentry blade we have as an the alternative the carbonic ones.
